Manual talk:$wgMaxRedirects

Why not set it to default to, say, 6? The lengthy redirect resolution seems to provide useful information. It see that there was no consensus to set it to anything higher than 1 on enwiki, but I would think a higher number would come in handy for the typical wiki. There is a bug concering $wgMaxRedirects with any number except 0 or 1 (bug 30359) which has not yet been fixed. It causes chains of multiple redirects to behave weirdly. MrBlueSky (talk) 00:06, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
