Unclear description[edit]

The explanation "Other wikis on this site, can be administered from a single developer account" is somewhat insufficient. It seems to be necessary to set this up when trying to use CentralAuth, but it is unclear how to do it. Is this a list of the databases or the wikis? When using prefixed tables, these are different. Please add the information what to do if multiple Wikis are prefix-delimited in a single database. Try to set up CentralAuth and failing. Thank you!--Vigilius 19:15, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unclear purpose[edit]

@HappyDog: Hi! When this page was created, do you remember its original purpose? What do you think about the Manual:$wgLocalDatabases#Troubleshooting section? Thank you so much :) --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 11:20, 26 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes - to document the setting. Documentation was copied from the source code documentation in the first instance. Subsequent edits have improved/expanded what was there. Not sure that 'Troubleshooting' is the right heading, but the content of that section is useful and it feels like this is the right place to put it. Would be good to finish it off, though (to get your clarification request answered). Also, you left a trailing sentence which should be fixed: "It is also in use by some maintenance scripts like:"
All the best,

Sentence "It is also in use by some maintenance scripts like:" has not been completed.
