VisualEditor not working on beta.wikiversity.org

At least on my terminal, the VisualEditor is not working on beta.wikiversity.org, the current content won't be displayed at all. Let me know if the problem seems isolated to my terminal. Proabably I should open a phabricator entry, shouldn't I? Psychoslave (talk) 06:57, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Do you happen to know whether the Wikiversity site is behind the enwiki Beta Cluster in terms of the deployment train? This issue was reported once or twice last week at en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org, but is working there now. If beta.wikiversity.org runs later on the deployment train, then it may be "fixed in the next update".

(I can reproduce the problem in FF 42 at beta.wikiversity.org today, but not on the Beta Cluster.) Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 16:40, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

This is unrelated to deployments. beta.wikiversity.org somehow didn't have RESTbase enabled. This oversight is being fixed. (There are a couple of teams involved, and therefore a couple of short delays are predicted ;-). Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 17:10, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

Do you have small TemplateData tasks suitable for Google Code-in?

Hi everybody! Google Code-in (GCI) will soon take place again - a seven week long contest for 13-17 year old students to contribute to free software projects. Tasks should take an experienced contributed about two or three hours and can be of the categories Code, Documentation/Training, Outreach/Research, Quality Assurance, and User Interface/Design.

It's completely without templatedata yet.

Templatedata should be added to Malline:Listing/ohje.

Also, visual editor is not yet working on fiwikivoyage (phab), so can't test is it working if templatedata is added. Stryn (talk) 15:27, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Squashing bugs!

Hi there! I'm looking for information that would help the developers assess properly a few issues that you may be experiencing. For T153561-Sometimes old WikiText editor loads after user has switched to new WikiText editor, reliable reproduction steps are needed (the ones we have are about a slightly different problem). For T153107 -Parsoid is generating [[Foo|Foo]] instead of [[Foo]] for some VE edits, recent examples where this occurred are needed (if you also know how to trigger this, it's a bonus!). https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T135667, aka "Please put templates on separate lines (when it won't break things) and don't (when it will)" was just resolved. This means templates will now behave as you really wanted them to. James has helpfully added documentation at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:TemplateData#Custom_formats.
