Claim not to fix these?
[edit]@Jonesey95: Your addition of a claim that these shouldn't be fixed should probably be discussed (here, or on Phabricator) first, before changing the advice to users. I disagree, for one. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 06:45, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- Feel free to link to a phab task. I don't see anything broken about the syntax in my example; it's a syntax that is used in hundreds or maybe thousands of template pages on the English Wikipedia in order to close a table on a template page where the table closure should not be transcluded (i.e. the template is used to insert a table row, table start, or table end). I can't think of a different way to accomplish what the code does. Maybe someone at Phab has a clever solution, though, and I'd love to see it. Thanks. Jonesey95 (talk) 16:58, 7 August 2025 (UTC)

- @Jonesey95: Your edge case notwithstanding, I think your strong claims need stronger evidence. I've slightly tweaked your addition to make the advice more clear; what do you think? Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 09:46, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- Your text is OK with me. We'll see how it shakes out if WMF developers ever want to unhide this Linter condition. I wonder how much of an edge case this really is; I can find 300 templates like this pretty easily, and there are probably other search patterns that give more results.
