MediaWiki提供了多种快捷键，通过这些快捷键无需使用鼠标即可高效地进行各种操作。 本页面详细介绍了核心MediaWiki及其扩展程序的默认英文快捷键。
所有快捷键都由“修饰键”和“行动键”组成。 修饰键为按下行动键之前的一个或多个组合按键。 具体使用的修饰键取决于操作系统以及浏览器，详见下表。 而行动键是通用的，详细的映射将在下一章介绍。

比如说，在 Linux 的火狐浏览器中，按住 Alt + Shift 并敲入最后的行动键 (例如 Alt+⇧ Shift+Z 可以进入首页)。 在MacOS里使用Safari浏览器时，保持按住 Control 和 Option 并键入快捷键组合里的行动键 (Control+⌥ Option+Z)。 Windows中的IE浏览器则只需要按下 Alt 键和行动键的组合。 对于其他操作系统，上述的组合应该也生效。您可能需要尝试多种修饰键来找到其中可以使用的组合，在少数情况下，同一操作系统下不同的行动键可能对应不同的修饰键。
Mediawiki 快捷键
下表列出了MediaWiki中默认的快捷键。 第一列显示了可以使用该快捷方式的区域。 第二列说明了该快捷键的具体功能。 第三列列出了需要使用修饰键来触发该快捷键的关键字母或字符。 最后一列为快捷方式所指向的 系统消息 的名称或 MediaWiki 命名空间 中的页面。 如果某行第三列为空，则说明此操作没有默认指定的快捷键。
系统消息可以通过元素的id属性来识别，因此使用热键进行操作时不需要额外的代码支持。
要为未列出的扩展添加快捷键，可以使用元素检查器找到其id属性。
在大多数情况下，条目最初是按MediaWiki页面名称的最后部分（例如
