Question[edit]

Hi. I've just issued a couple of notifications using the system. The meta log says that 23 people was notified about this although the number of notifications on-wiki is not that high so I assume the remaining ones where notified by email.

I'd like to know with which account and email address the recipients of the message will get the email notifications.

Regards. --Marco Aurelio (talkmeta) 13:21, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

We can't give the e-mail addresses due to the Privacy policy, that's a given. As for telling which users get notified in what manner, that could possibly be done, but it would have to be cleared with legal first just in case. Jsoby (talk) 15:18, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
I think I've not explained myself very well. I wish to know if my email address —or other private information of the translationadmin— is used or shown by the Extension to send the notifications when we issue one via Special:NotifyTranslators. Thanks. --Marco Aurelio (talkmeta) 16:00, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ah. No, it isn't – the e-mails are from "Meta-Wiki", and work pretty much like the e-mail notifications you get when someone edits your user talk. (And speaking of e-mail notifications – sorry about the long reply, I don't have e-mail notification on my personal account on MediaWiki.) Jsoby (talk) 18:44, 8 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for clarifying. --Marco Aurelio (talkmeta) 10:48, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
