subst ?[edit]

Does anyone know if this extension can be used like subst-ing a template? There's no need to do a lookup of a location every time the page is loaded. ⇔ ChristTrekker 07:18, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it can. Just add subst: before the #geocode --Sergey Chernyshev 23:07, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

UK Postcodes?[edit]

I'm trying to use this with UK post codes. It returns co-ordinates, but they are inaccurate. If I enter the postcode into Google maps then the correct street is shown though. Try SE1 8HP. The extension returns co-ordinates near Tower Bridge in London, but the post code is for BlackFriars Road. Google Maps shows the right map for the postcode. The map is always within ball park distance though. It is as if the wrong granularity is set. Any ideas? Thanks! Mitchelln 16:47, 26 February 2009 (GMT)

I noticed that Google's geocoding API is not the same as the one they use on Google Maps - it might be intentional. Also, there are not that many options you can control: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/geocoding/#GeocodingRequests --Sergey Chernyshev 23:06, 27 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
