The NoTitle extension adds a magic word, __NOTITLE__, that lets you hide the main title heading on any page.

Put __NOTITLE__ on any pages where you want to hide the title.[1]

  • Download and place the file(s) in a directory called NoTitle in your extensions/ folder.
  • Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php:
    require_once "$IP/extensions/NoTitle/NoTitle.php";
    $wgRestrictDisplayTitle = false;
  • YesY Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.

This extension is (no longer?) being maintained by Tony Boyles through a project of Milcord llc.

  1. This extension will work for any skin that puts the title heading in an <h1> with class="firstHeading", including the default Vector skin.

{{DISPLAYTITLE:newtitle}} works for any page.
