Edit check
A set of tools that aims to provide actionable feedback about Wikipedia policies to users while they are editing. Not to be confused with Checks, like References check or Tone Check.
Check
Name of the event that displays a relevant and actionable comment about a Wikipedia policy or rule, to a user when they are making an edit to a page using the visual editor.
Checks can be of different types: References check, Tone Check...

A type of edit check to encourage users to add citations in articles. It is the first check the Editing team released.
Deployed/Activated
Deployed wikis are wikis where Edit check is available, as the regular experience, as an A/B test , or as a shadow feature .
Activated wikis are wikis where at least one Edit check was recorded. This edit check is tagged in history pages
Multi-check
When multiple checks are displayed at the same time, we call this state "multi-check".
Proofreading state
State of an edit, where the user clicks on Publish changes. This is where References check is displayed.
Tone Check
Formerly known as "Peacock check", this check helps new users to consider the neutrality of tone of the new content they add to on wiki.
Paste Check
This check appears when people paste text into an article they are likely not to have written.
