Methodological considerations for the DSS 2026

[edit]
  1. Sample/population: We asked respondents if they took the survey last year, and about half of respondents said that they did. This indicates to us that the DSS is closer to a sample survey than longitudinal data of a fixed population. However, as there is no defined and queryable population for Wikimedia developers to compare to, we do not know the extent to which the Developer Satisfaction Survey is representative of the entire population; for this reason, (as with previous years) we have not included margins of error or confidence intervals.
