Notes
- The meeting started with introductions, and the WMF staff presented their plan, approach and expectations from communities during the project. After the presentation, attendees were invited to ask questions.
- Someone from the Portuguese Wiki provided feedback that everything is understood and that they look forward to having this feature soon.
- Attendees were encouraged to complete the questionnaire to help the WMF team understand the type of guidance to provide for the feature. To further stress its significance, WMF staff emphasised the importance of this feedback.
- As the project progresses, we will schedule another meeting to share our progress and gather feedback to help us iterate. In the meantime, we will communicate and share status updates through the Article guidance project page.
Meeting Preparation Guide
[edit]Everything you need to know before the meeting
This information summarizes what to expect and how to prepare for the meeting. This short guide will help you make the most of our first meeting.
What this meeting is about
This is our first meeting as a group working on the Article guidance initiative. Think of it as a kickoff. We will:
- Introduce ourselves
- The WMF will present our approach using slides and videos.
- We will ask for your feedback based on the presentations.
- Tell you what to expect in the coming weeks.
How to prepare for the meeting
You do not need to do extensive preparation. Here are a few steps to help you contribute more effectively during the meeting.
- Go through the presentation slides and this video to get familiar with the project and our proposed approach.
- Reflect on and note your experience or practices as they relate to your contributions to your language Wikipedia.
- If you have any relevant questions you want the WMF team to consider and answer during the meeting, add them in the “Questions for the WMF team” section.
Questions to reflect on
The WMF team has put together questions in this form. Your answers will be used to create an initial of the guidance to support the creation of key types of articles in your community. That will serve as an example for communities to iterate, by improving and expanding to support more topics. We want you to answer them after the meeting, but you can think about them beforehand.
The form is currently in English, but we will provide it in other languages (Arabic, Bangla, Japanese, Portuguese, Persian and Turkish) before or shortly after the meeting.
Questions for WMF team
Please add your questions in this document and write your username beside them.
What to expect from you after the meeting
Bangla, Japanese, Portuguese, Persian and Turkish, - you have a week to fill it out.
- Follow the project page for updates and information about our next meeting.
