From mediawiki.org

Post your feedback about using the first iteration of the 2017 wikitext editor as a Beta Feature. While you can disable it by unchecking the New wikitext mode checkbox in your Preferences (Beta tab), the Contributors team welcomes your feedback and ideas, especially on user interface decisions and the priorities for adding new features. All comments are read, in any language, but personal replies are not guaranteed. You can learn how to structure well your submission.

If you are reporting a problem directly on this page, please include your web browser, computer operating system, and wiki skin (usually Vector, sometimes Monobook). Also, while editing to reproduce a problem, please try to append &safemode=1 at the end of the URL; if the problem disappears, you are using a gadget or script that interferes with the editor.

We are trying to keep the page tidy by providing links to relevant tasks while closing threads. You can help by adding {{tracked|T######}}. By all means, feel free to re-open a thread if you need to!

Can the support for editnotices be improved both the visual editor and this editor, currently the tiny Notice! box cannot handle even the simplest customised notices FR30799386 (talk) 07:05, 13 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am guessing that by "handle" you mean one of the issues already described on Phabricator. If not, feel free to elaborate. TY! Elitre (WMF) (talk) 09:25, 19 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Force Radical, is the notice you're talking about using table formatting (in the underlying templates), and therefore already displaying badly for every user on a smartphone? Editnotices such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:TFA-editnotice need to be re-designed so that they work for everyone, regardless of screen size and shape. (It's largely a matter of making the icon float as an image, rather than requiring an entire column to itself – not a difficult change, but people have to choose to do it.) Wikitext editor misbehaving (for long lines?)

Screencast

[edit]

The wikitext editor seems to be misbehaving for long lines by not editing in the place pointed to by the edit cursor.

The section of concern: M:Reports#Global_activities particularly the "WMF" row of the table. Kaartic [talk] 17:41, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

I'm an editor from China. I think that I found the same situation. But in fact, the Wikitext "editor" will misbehave when special format appear from the text( I use Chinese ), but not that easy thought about " long lines " . Because of it, I have to forget my edition in such a time... Please try to correct the mistakes in time. ζŽη‚―ιœ„ (talk) 14:00, 27 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
