Hi there Igottheconch, I see you are editing a lot. Thanks for that! I have one remark though, could you, when editing a page, use the Show preview button, before saving? Then you can see what the page looks like when you would save it, if you don't see any errors, then save it. Otherwise, the history of a page becomes a mess. Thanks in advance. Extension:DismissableSiteNotice[edit]

Hi there! Regarding your suggestion for the extension and re-display of the sitenotice via a code change, it would be much more advisable to post this to the talk page to give the author a chance to review it before posting it to the extension's main page. We may not know what unintended consequences the hack could have. Cheers.    Thorncrag   17:51, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

hello, thank you for your note. that coding is originally from the talk page. It was discussed there. Although there were disagreements why a peson would use it, there was no disagreements about it working or coding problems. I have personally found it to be extremely useful, and I wanted to make people more aware of it. Igottheconch 19:51, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
My apologies, I checked the talk page but did not see it was posted there. I'll get back to you. Thanks!  :-)    Thorncrag   20:12, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
No worries at all - thank you for your contributions. Normally nobody would hesitate, but this extension is a little different especially since it's used by WMF sites. Brion reviewed and posted it - so again, thanks :-)    Thorncrag   17:14, 15 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Manual:Parameters to index.php[edit]

Hi Igottheconch, I believe it would be better to transfer your request for unprotection of this page to Project:Current issues. The way it is done now is not very effective since it is unlikely to be detected by the right people within a reasonable period of time. It would be nice if you could do this. Cheers and thank you --[[kgh]] 20:13, 12 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Manual:Short URL[edit]

Igottheconch, could you explain the re-introduction of the ampersand problem section to the short URLs page. That section is defunct, the ampersand problem doesn't exist anymore with the official guides. It only ever happened when people used the old badly designed guides that have been replaced.
