Wikidata documentation sprint[edit]

The documentation sprint is a session that will take place during the 3 days of the hackathon. Its main goal is to improve user-documentation about Wikidata and Wikibase.

Anyone is welcome to join at any moment during the event, join a team or not, work on one of the suggested topics or not.

We will build a list of tasks with the community, so participants can work alone or in teams. During the sprint, we will also organize short workshops about useful tools (e.g. translation tools, illustration). Organizers will provide advices to help participants to build a good documentation. Non-tech people welcome. People will be able to attend remotely.

How to help?[edit]

Before the event[edit]

  • Review the existing documentation and add some ideas of tasks (as subtasks to the three focus points listed above, on Phabricator)
  • suggest ideas of workshops related to documentation tools and methods (you can comment this task or this talk page)

During the event[edit]

  • attend IRL or remotely (you don't have to attend the three days, you can come to our room whenever you want)
  • work on one of the tasks, or another documentation task you'd like
  • suggest your help on a specific topic (e.g. creating diagrams, coding in Lua, etc.)

After the event[edit]

  • review and improve the work done
  • organize a beginner crash-test session: ask users/beginners around you to read the documentation and collect comments/questions/misunderstandings

I'm interested to attend[edit]

Please add yourself below if you're interested to attend. This is not a formal registration. Feel free to mention the topics you'd like to work on, workshops you're interested in, etc.
