[edit] Template:Signature-preload
Hi. I have tweaked the template:signature-preload to simplify the submission. The hint will be automatically erased by the parser. Hillgentleman 02:25, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Offer
Thanks for the offer about joining the Support team, however, I don't come here that often. I just thought I would help out based on some of my own experiences with MW. -Barista 13:10, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Support team
Hi PatPeter, thank you for the invitation. Presently, I am tied up with a few Mediawiki projects and am also learning PHP. I will be glad to join the support team, probably by mid next year. As it is, I have received much from support desk, and it is only fair that I should do by bit. — PM Poon 17:37, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Support team signiture
Hi Pat, I think if you use a fancy support team sig, you should put details of it's usage on the support team page so the other members can easily use it on their own sigs if they choose. --Nad 19:45, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Testing on templates
When testing changes to templates, please make use of the sandbox or user subpages. This way, if something becomes broken, it doesn't affect a highly-visited page. Once you are done testing, simply tag the page with {{speedy}} and a sysop will come around and get rid of the page (or keep it for further tests). Thanks! --Skizzerz talk - contribs

[edit] Not quite sure...
Hello: not quite sure what you meant as a solution to my infobox problem. Can you please elaborate? --LeyteWolfer 16:34, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unblock
Hi PatPeter, I am sorry to hear that you have been blocked. Honestly, I don't know enough of the problem to be of any assistance. Any appeal must be supported by facts which I do not possess.
However, if I were you, I wouldn't even bother. After all, nowadays we have Citizendium which is in urgent need of support. And there's also a whole list of MediaWiki sites which I am sure they will appreciate your participation. I find the environment in Wikipedia English rather rough, and that was why I spend most of my time in Wikipedia Malay until last year when I started two of my own Mediawiki sites at Dummipedia.org and Ensiklopedia Teknologi Maklumat (Malay Information Technology Encyclopedia).
If you have been an active contributor of Wikipedia, you should seriously consider starting one yourself. After all, the cost is not much.... (less than US$100 a year). You will enjoy it, although you must be prepared that you will not get much response from the public, just as with most of those sites in the aforementioned Mediawiki list (including mine up to this moment). Wikipedia is a miracle in its own right but now it has so many contributors such that it doesn't value them much.
(P/S: Awwww! Sorry so much, I must have been away a long time. My response comes almost two months too late! Time really flies. So many technical problems to handle when you are on your own! In Wikipedia, you just write, while those who are good at programming handle the technical aspects. — PM Poon 08:08, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Timing out with file upload
I am having the same problem with timing out while trying to upload files. Only times out when trying to upload a file that exceeds the max file size in php.ini.
Should there not be a MediaWiki error telling the user that file size exceeds limit?

[edit] Advertisement
Hi, I need help installing Advertisements on the sides (Out of the actual editing spot) of my wiki http://www.vindemi.com . I know you have to edit either monobook.php or monobook.css but I am not sure/I dont know which one and where exactly in the file to imput the code. And which code do I use; the one that google adsense generates? Thanks --72.211.220.204 02:59, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Resolved
I fixed the wiki-info at the support desk. --82.42.237.84 10:06, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- I reply here because you do not have a talk page, and I do not want to waste space on the MediaWiki servers making one. Thank you for adding the wiki info, please link me to your topic using this format: [[Project:Support desk#Your topic]]. -PatPeter
