Welcome to MediaWiki.org!

Yes, welcome! This site is dedicated to documenting the MediaWiki software, the software behind many wikis, including that of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation projects.
Please, take a look at the following pages. They might prove useful to you as a newcomer here:

If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and find this site useful documentation of the MediaWiki software.

GSoC introductions[edit]

Hi. I hope you're still interested in i18n projects; in the meanwhile we've featured some more of them, see Mentorship_programs/Possible_projects#Internationalization_and_localization, and I hope to read a proposal from you soon. Thanks for creating your user page and signing up in the GSoC page; I think that adding at least one photo (that you can upload on Commons) will also help getting more people involved and more comments when you write your proposal. :) Being a "foreigner", i.e. someone the community doesn't know anything about, is one small thing that can make progress slower. --Nemo 13:03, 2 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

GSoC application[edit]

Hi! You showed your interest in presenting a proposal for GSoC 2014 at Google_Summer_of_Code_2014#Candidates. Are you working on it? The deadline is this Friday, March 21. There is not much time left, but we still encourage you to apply. Submit your proposal to Google Melange before the deadline, we allow our students to keep improving it after that date (within reason, as long as you are in good sync with your mentors). Our advice? Be bold and take the chance.--Qgil (talk) 18:47, 18 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
