I'm a big fan of Wikipedia. I like the style and code that MediaWiki has shown. (Only wish I had helped back then) But here I am helping now.

When I wanted to make a site for friends and family I wanted to go with MediaWiki. However I found that it's Open nature was difficult to hanker down and only allow family member access. (They didn't want all there pictures floating around the net). Many of the Authentication and Authorization Extensions didn't quite fit my tastes so I endevoured on my own and was able to contribute:

• Yet Another Extension:Read Restrict or lock down as some call it.

I also contributed some notes on installing the MW: my blog extension provided by CheckMate.org.
