I've just joined (Jan 2012) Wikimedia as a backend engineer on the analytics team. I'll be working with Diederik to build and support new systems for gathering and analyzing data. Data data data data data. Before joining the Wikimedia team, I worked for 4 years as a sysadmin/webops engineer for CouchSurfing.org, and helped scale it while it grew from 300K to 4M users.

I'm from Virginia, and currently live in Brooklyn, NY.
