These are a few plans I hope I can materialize in near future:

• To let admins modify the block options without unblocking and reblocking (bugzilla:10080).
• To add an option to block options, which lets the administrator allow/disallow the blocked user to edit their talk pages while the block is effective (bugzilla:8440).
