Joining vs. watching a project

It would be nice to explain this distinction. I don't fully understand it, myself.

And the verb "subscribe" also gets used with respect to projects. How does that fit in?

Join == become a member == you get to see on Phabricator tasks from that project more prominently (depending on what dashboard you use).

Watch == you get a notification (via e-mail but IIRC configurable). for every single thing that happens in that project; equivalent to Bugzilla's "default CC" concept.
