Redirects in link suggestions

I recently used VisualEditor to make this edit to w:en:University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student housing. I wanted to add a wikilink to w:en:Wilson Library, so I selected the text "Wilson Library" and clicked the link button. When I did, a little box popped up with two suggestions for targets I might want to link to: "Wilson Library" (a redirect) and "Wilson Library Bulletin". I intended to link to the redirect, but the system automatically selected the other target instead, and because I wasn't paying very close attention, I didn't notice the mistake after I made the edit.

I would suggest that in situations like this, where a redirect exists that matches the linked text exactly, the redirect should be the target automatically selected by the system, rather than another page that matches the linked text less closely.

Thanks for your consideration!

I agree, and the bug report has already been filed. Thank you for taking the time to post this note.
