In response to the pleas just published I thought I'd give VE another shot, having trialled it a lot in earlier days and given up in sheer exasperation at its inadequacy. Sadly, there's no progress on one of my main complaints, probably my major problem with VE: the dialog box hides the content of the article. So if I'm adding a categoroy or a stub template I need to have memorised all the relevant details from the article before calling up the dialog box. I can't shift the box, or shrink it, so that I can read the article: it just hides it. I might persevere for a while, as the developers seem desperate for feedback, but for me this is the killer problem: it's just not fit for purpose.

Is that bugzilla:49969?

Yes, it's the bug from last year, and I've got the message: devs aren't interested in helping editors like me. I'll do a bit more testing of your VE, but at present it's pretty useless for me.
At the moment, it looks like progress is stalled because VisualEditor's windows are created via OOjs UI WindowManager, and OOjs UI WindowManager doesn't understand the idea of re-sizing.
The story as it reached me is this: The design team has to expand OOjs UI WindowManager (major effort) followed by the editing team implementing the changes (moderate effort), and then we will have what we need. Immediate problem: I don't think that anything about OOjs UI WindowManager is anywhere on the design teams' goals for this fiscal year.
