Education Program Extension.

The extension is not enabled on Wikipedia yet, so you cannot use it in the context of Wikipedia yet. However, if you yourself have a similar program, and you have your own wiki on which you're running it, then you can get the extension and immediately start using it with the features it currently has. The later case (having such a program yourself) seems slightly unlikely to me, so I'm not sure you actually have use for this extension :)

Hi Jeroen, thanks so much for getting back to me. Actually I do have a wiki that I was going to launch in a week or two, and your extension is going to be *perfect* for it. I was so excited when I found it, I nearly fell off my chair.

My wiki needs some of the features of Semantic Mediawiki - are the two extensions (Semantic Mediawiki and Education Program) compatible, do you think?

Although I am very much a kitchen-table social entrepreneur at the moment, I'm aiming to make my novel project national/international in scope.

EP and SMW are compatible in that they don't break or interfere with each other, but at the same time, they don't make use of each other.

Good luck with the social entrepreneurship :)

Wonderful! Thanks for your help, Jeroen, and thank you.

Good luck with whatever you are working on right now too.

Best wishes

Jen

Dear Jeroen,

I have Education Program set up with Mediawiki 1.21 :)

I wonder, could you please tell me, if I wanted to change the wiki so that 'Student' and 'Student list' became 'Researcher' and 'Researcher list', what would I need to do?

best wishes, Open Research (talk) 16:23, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

These names are not configurable, so if you change them (which is easily enough), you will need to re-apply the change when you update the code.

The names can be found in EducationProgram.i18n.alias.php. You need to modify the stuff in array(), which are the actual names that will resolve to the special page in question.
