Are there plans for a mobile app that just delivers Echo notifications? Or for login to be added to the official Wikimedia mobile apps so that users can at least read messages there? Thanks!

In the "mobile view" of any page (linked at the bottom of all Wikimedia page), the notifications are accessible. eg https://it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagina_principale (top-right corner).
For the Official App (I'm not familiar with it, but I think Wikimedia Mobile engineering and en:Help:Mobile access#Official Application are possibly the most uptodate pages?) it's in the process of being retooled from a reader-app into also-a-contributions-app. I assume Echo will be part of it, at that point?
As for a separate Notifications-app - There are preferences for each notification-type, to send any of them to your email. I guess that should cover it?
Yep, we've just started on the new apps for Android and iOS; it'll be a few more months down the line before all the contrib features are in, but we will have login features and echo notifications will be integrated.
