Link Update[edit]

[[Wikipedia:Soft redirect|soft redirect]] in this template should be replaced by [[en:WP:Soft redirect|soft redirect]]. The other page got deleted. I'd do so, but it's protected... --Zai Lynch 02:34, 6 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done. iAlex 06:08, 6 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not needed[edit]

Whatever technical restrictions required this template seem to have been resolved. I am using a regular redirect to my Wikipedia talk page with no problems. --Timl2k4 17:47, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for info, I'll use your direct approach to this issue, it appears to be good enough for my purposes. –Be..anyone 16:20, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Template:Soft redirect is useful when you want to present a link to somewhere else, but give a little bit of context before readers follow it. The classic example is when you have a little bit of local info on your user page here on www.mediawiki.org, but your Global user page is on meta-wiki. -- SPage (WMF) (talk) 21:20, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
