Expired tools[edit]

There should also be a separate list of the tools which died because of account expiration. There are many I still miss, and on Toolserver they can revived at any time. Probably less details are needed for those, but it's still something to keep an eye on. --Nemo 08:12, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

+1 I will keep this in mind! Silke WMDE (talk) 09:34, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
BTW, why we allow to die a function with the dead of the user?--Juandev (talk) 19:57, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

There's also a list of all such links and a count of the respective occurrences (rather big files). I'm having some problems with the queries for links in external link form, let's see if something useful comes out of it. --Nemo 10:21, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

@Nemo bis: I'd love to see a tool or quarry query created that made finding reasonably up to date (monthly?) versions of these counts easy. Do you have or remember how you gathered these counts? I imagine they are taken from the iwlinks and externallinks tables? --BDavis (WMF) (talk) 20:55, 23 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Sure. I didn't keep the script in the usual places, but it was just a shell script iterating over all dbnames to query the iwlinks_table and then some grep/sed + sort + uniq counting. --Nemo 04:22, 24 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Simplify editing[edit]

Hi. I suggest using named parameters to make it easier to edit the table. Specifically, I'd replace the positional arguments:

{{/tool|1 | Many projects | CommonsDelinker | operated by Siebrand, maintained by Bryan | Bot | Delinks deleted images from Commons from all Wikimedia projects; Universally replaces images on commands. | ? |  |  |  | ?}}

With something like this:

{{/tool
  |name    = CommonsDelinker
  |summary = Delinks deleted images from Commons from all Wikimedia projects; Universally replaces images on commands.
  |author = operated by Siebrand, maintained by Bryan
  |type    = Bot
  |scope   = Many projects  |license = open
  |pattern =
  |status  = ?
  |software needs =
  |database needs =
}}

I'd also suggest automating the manual list number.

If that's okay, I can take care of it. —Pathoschild 02:01:29, 08 March 2013 (UTC)

Coren already fixed that some weeks ago :-). But if you want to convert the existing entries with positional arguments, I'd appreciate it. --Tim Landscheidt 03:37, 8 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Done. I didn't switch to auto-numbering, since that wouldn't work with the code for alternating row colours. —Pathoschild 04:53:47, 09 March 2013 (UTC)
Wonderful! Thank you, Pathos. --Nemo 08:23, 9 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
YES PLEASE! I found the list to be staggerring! Sue Rangell (talk) 18:23, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

A small list to check against[edit]

THe table doesn't fit the width of my screen, I would kindly ask that someone looks into adding those to the list. Some I see in browsing history a lot but toolserver doesn't load for me, can't say what those tools do.

Thanks. Gryllida (talk) 05:55, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Coordinates tool[edit]

Maybe I'm just blind, I'm missing the Coordinates tool of Multichill. I'm always using it for my commons files. http://toolserver.org/~multichill/coordinates.php --Stanzilla (talk) 14:18, 8 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

User friendly inquiry[edit]

As far as I understand the request, you are willing to know, who we use the tools. I would appreciate to have more userfriendly inquiry than user unfriendly wiki tab.--Juandev (talk) 19:56, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

My tools[edit]

It is hard to say, what tools I am using. Usually I look for them online and usually I am not able to find the one I saw last time. But:
