Subtitles[edit]

One feature I don't see mentioned is sub-titles.

Is there any plan to add a feature where subtitles can be added to video and audio streams? Subtitles are useful even where they are in the same language as the video, for hard of hearing but also for those who are not familiar with the language or the speakers accent. Ideally it should be possible to add multiple subtitle tracks in different languages and the subtitle text should be searchable. Filceolaire 10:15, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Looping and autoplay[edit]

Given that there is some suggestion video may be partially used to replace animated gifs in wikimedia projects, will it be possible to somehow specify HTML 5 video element attributes like autoplay and looping? Nil Einne 19:11, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's such a mess[edit]

Can anyone, please, make some clean up in this page? I'v installed already (in my wiki) OggHandler - since it's the only extension not yet depreciated, that make user of HTML5 <video> tag and has some decent documentation. But since now we have webm container, and browser that can support it - It would be nice to use it - but every time I search something about "mediawiki and video" I stuck on this crappy page with no idea how to install video support!
