[edit] Limiting read access
The next version of the LdapAuthentication plugin will use LDAP groups, similar to how you are describing.

[edit] Stable Version
I believe this feature is planned for MediaWiki 1.9 or 1.10 (or was it 1.11?). If you can't wait, there is an extension made by Magnus Manske, and updated a little by myself: StableVersion
It works pretty well. I've been using it for a while and haven't run into any problems.

Flagged Revisions can now handle this. It isn't exactly easy to configure though

[edit] "Simple" solution?
I thought that MediaWiki was regarded as a feature-rich but complex solution. Tisane 03:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- Initial installation and configuration is simple. It is getting less complex over time as well. The complex part is making it work for your enterprise. That is actually a problem with all wikis though.

[edit] Moved page
This page has been moved/merged into the general Enterprise hub. The reasoning is that specific information should not be duplicated, and stored in the general MW docs, while a hub for enterprise users will direct them to the areas where they would be interested directly.--Olivier Beaton 05:42, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
