In MediaWiki extensions, the functionality of a poll allows users to create polls and display them on wiki pages.

As of March 2006, there seems to be only one implementation of an extension that adds polling functionality to MediaWiki on Meta.
- meta:User:Sent/Poll - maintenance seems to have ceased, and the code is fairly unclean
- → As of the end of September 2006, the development has restarted, with fresh and cleaner code, see: Free2XS.net. (currently only available in dutch!)
- May 2006 : a new poll script for mediawiki
- August 2006: Audience Response By Mobile Phone Service is a mediawiki extension intended for use with a co-located audience that doesn't require issuing clickers or need specialist infrastructure. Previously audience response systems for remote audiences have been a different class of application but votApedia does both. Surveys are in a multiple choice question (MCQ) form.
