Mediawiki hosting using Plesk

This article relates to the use of MediaWiki 1.16 with [Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5.4].

The settings discussed in this article will produce a working configuration. However, some settings may be unnecessary and further investigation may deem them inappropriate or irrelevant.

When viewing the domain in Plesk the following settings should be configured.

Web Hosting Settings - Services Section

• Turn on SSI Support and the additional option to (use SSI for *.htm, *.html files)
  

• Turn on PHP Support and select a supported version of PHP.
• Select to run as ISAPI extension - this will give a massive performance improvement.
  

• Turn on CGI Support.
• Turn on Perl Support.
  

• Turn on Additional write/modify permissions for file uploads to work.
  

Most other settings in Plesk can be left default.
