The procedure in the artikel doesn't work. Ik tried to do it, but the procedure is:

  1. Incomplete
  2. Not working

Could you please provide better instructions? Jcb 13:51, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

What kind of errors did you? Have you installed both PHP and MySQL first? What are you using for a webserver? 68.0.185.95 10:25, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

I installed PHP and MySQL on a Windows XP workstation. From other workstations I get once a page with a mediawiki-logo and then a lot of codes. The same thing for the index.php which is in the config directory. The second time I get no connection at all and I have to reset Xigui32 first. Jcb 07:11, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Well, finally I tried EasyPHP, an all-in-on-package, described on another meta.wikipedia pages, and it works fine. Jcb 08:23, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

The instructions list where to download Xampp, but not where to download Mediawiki. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 03:53, 6 August 2009 68.5.44.233 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

The link to download MediaWiki is already in the MediaWiki.org sidebar, so already appears alongside this page. I'm just not sure why anyone would want to use WinXP to run MediaWiki when I know someone who had a cousin who knows somewhere where one can download a pirated copy of Linux... where MediaWiki runs just fine natively. Can't compete with free... --66.102.80.212 02:37, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
