Can be great to show what features are affected by this parameter.

Seconded. It would be tempting to use it on shared hosts which monitor CPU usage but what's the price? --Kingboyk 18:48, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

$wgMiserMode and update.php[edit]

Hi, in case you enabled $wgMiserMode you get the following message

# php update.php
Do not run update.php on this wiki. If you're seeing this you should
probably ask for some help in performing your schema updates.

If you know what you are doing, you can continue with --force

I guess this was done for a reason. Thus I think it is best to disable the feature for the update and enable it afterwards again.

Great, thank you to Bawolff for updating this manual. One may now force updates. :) Cheers --[[kgh]] 17:15, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

special pages marked as expensive[edit]

Mention how to find which special pages are marked as expensive. Jidanni (talk) 02:53, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

OK,
$  grep -A 1 -ri expensive mediawiki/includes/special*
helps. Jidanni (talk) 03:03, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
