MediaWiki:1movedto2 and MediaWiki:1movedto2 redir are displayed in edit histories and logs. The former is used when a page is moved to a new title, while the latter is used when a page is moved to a existing redirect (which deletes the redirect). If the redirect page's history has more than one edit, an administrator must manually delete the page before the move.

Two variables are available:

• $1 is the original page title;
• $2 is the new page title.

For example, the messages are used in the highlighted portions of this log excerpt:

00:52, 18 November 2009 Example user (Talk | contribs | block) moved Sandbox to Test (I like this better)

00:57, 18 November 2009 Example user (Talk | contribs | block) moved Test to Sandbox over redirect (standardized)
