The main difference between what is here and what is in the existing documentation is that here, it's all in one place, with a clear page title. In the existing document it appears half way through the description of a vague 'one step process' (it's vague if your trying to learn SF from scratch). --Dmb 16:57, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Confused about the table layout

Great work on this documentation. Once I get a grip on this, I'd love to add some more usage examples and explanations. But, before that, I'm confuse about the "target" parameter. The way it's laid out in the table, it appears it goes with the query string, which didn't work for:

{{ #formlink: form = | link text = | link type = | query string = target =}}

In actuality, I had to do it like this:

{{ #formlink: form = | link text = | link type = | target = | query string = }}

I assume that the same is true for all of those parameters? If so, why are they listed together under "query string"? It appears to me that they are parameters that could alternatively be specified in the query string (the error message I get seems to be saying that (but it's kind of cryptic from my point of view):

This is the page for editing with a form. You must specify both a form name and a target page in the URL; it should look like 'Special:FormEdit?form=<form name>&target=<target page>', or 'Special:FormEdit/<form name>/<target page>'.

Since I haven't experimented with the other parameters to get a broad understanding of this subject, I'm not sure what to change to make things more clear. Maybe you could explain, or make the changes based on this description of where I'm tripping up? Badon 22:33, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
