[edit] Purpose
Provides saving pages' metadata (i.e. restrictions) to a wikitext page. This extension is especially useful in situation where XML database dumping is used in place of a complete MySQL database backup.
[edit] Features
- Page metadata stored in 'Page_Namespace:Page.meta'
[edit] IMPORTANT PRIVACY NOTE
This extension *can* expose confidential information if not used with an appropriate permission management sub-system such as Extension:HNP. Of course, the said sub-system must also be properly configured to restrict access to all pages following the pattern '~.meta'.
[edit] Dependancies
- StubManager extension
- Optional but highly recommended Extension:HNP

- ↑ The most recent release is always available through the extension's PEAR and SVN repositories. This page is not necessarily up-to-date.
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 2.2 Extension:ExtensionManager does not require any modification to LocalSettings.php because ExtensionManager includes the extension.
Note that if PHP code caching is in place (e.g. APC, eAccelerator), then to successfully complete the installation a cache flush might be needed. - ↑ Modifications to
LocalSettings.phpis only necessary if not using Extension:ExtensionManager
