Requisiti di sistema
MediaWiki richiede PHP 5. 1 + e MySQL, o PostgreSQL o SQLite. Per ulteriori informazioni si prega di leggere il manuale "requisiti di sistema per l'instalazzione".

Warning:PHP 5.3.1 ha in esso un bug e non è supportato da MediaWiki. È consigliabile utilizzare PHP 5.3.0 o PHP 5.3.2+.

Note
- PHP 5 support has been required since MediaWiki 1.7 – if you are using PHP 4, you should upgrade now! It's no longer supported by the PHP group, and has lots of bugs. Many shared hosting providers offer both PHP 4 and PHP 5, running simultaneously, your provider might do this. If you cannot upgrade, you should use MediaWiki 1.6.12 (download). Note that this version is no longer supported.
- MySQL 4 support has been required since MediaWiki 1.6 – if you are using an older version of MySQL and cannot upgrade, you should use MediaWiki 1.5.8 (download). Note that this version is no longer supported, but should still support PHP 4 as well.

If your MediaWiki installation is heavily modified, it may be difficult to incorporate the latest official changes/updates to MediaWiki. To support such users, we maintain old branches of our code for up to a year.
